C&L Aerospace Acquires Two Saab 340Bs
25 October 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In early November C&L Aerospace of Brisbane Australia purchased two SAAB 340Bs that have been sitting on the tarmac in Townsville Queensland Australia since early 2009. The two 340Bs are ex-MacAir planes, the troubled regional airline that was based in Townsville. In February 2009, the regional airline went into receivership and subsequently ceased operations. C&L Aerospace purchased these aircraft from one of the lessors.
In mid-November C&L Aerospace sent a five-man crew to Townsville to spend about four weeks tearing down the aircraft. Parting out an airplane is a cost-effective way to replenish company inventory as well as recycle viable surplus parts. The parts from these teardowns have been shipped to the C&L Aviation Services warehouse in Bangor Maine USA and are available for sale.
C&L Aviation Services also offers a full range of aircraft maintenance services, including heavy maintenance checks.
